How to purchase surplus solar
cells
Solar cells are also called photovoltaic cells they
convert solar energy into electricity. This process is called
photovoltaic effect. The device works like this. It collects
sunlight energy and turns it into fuel or electricity by the
photovoltaic effect. Many items are available on the market
today that runs off of solar energy; calculators, fans, state
caution lights, watches, clocks, and outdoor lighting to only
name a few. With solar powered products you never have to worry
about replacing the battery or finding a plug end for the
electricity contact.
Believe it or not it is possible to build your
own solar cells. With a little bit of education and quiet
a few supplies the process is not that difficult. But it
does require research on building the solar cell and
patience because it can be a little frustrating to
understanding the concept of building your own solar
cells. Most people do not really want the hassle of doing
it themselves so they more often opt to purchase them.
There are several factors that you will need to think
about prior to purchase the solar cells and they include;
price, availability, size, mass, and cell voltage. After
doing your research you may decide to purchase a surplus
solar cell.
When it comes to the price of solar cells it is the same as
purchasing any other product “You get what you pay for.” Have
you heard that before? Of course you have so you must be very
careful when budgeting for the cost of a solar cell. It may
require research before you realize that the price tag can be
quiet expensive and decide to choose a cheaper solar cell. You
will be glad that you have decided to purchase a solar cell
from a surplus house. After you decide of the price that you
are willing to pay it is time to search for the availability of
being able to purchase a solar cell.
Availability is definitely a biggie when it comes to finding
the perfect solar cells that you are looking for. When it comes
to surplus sales you will need to remember that lots of people
decide to go with surplus because sometimes it can be a
fraction of the cost from a solar cell store. So when going
with surplus solar cells it may be quiet a wait before you can
find one that suits your needs. If you do find the solar cell
through the surplus store be sure to don’t hesitate on the
purchase because if you do not buy it someone else will.
Mass is your next factor that you will need to consider
before purchasing a solar cell. Remember that the heavier the
solar cell is will increase the load on your BEAMbot or motor.
This means that it will require more energy or power to make
sure that the solar cells are working correctly and
efficiently. When you are searching for a solar cell that has
great performance it does not always compare to the size. This
basically means that a solar cell does not have to be large in
order to receive great performance output. So in some cases
smaller may be better.
Cell voltage is the last factor that you will be required to
consider when purchasing a solar cell. Most BEAM bots or motors
will require 3 volts and not less to work properly. For example
if you purchase a 0.5 volt solar cell you will be required to
wire six of them together to make up that for the 3 volts that
is required. This can be quiet frustrating when it comes to
purchasing solar cells through surplus.
